The industrial park in the “Kashgar” Bonded Zone was officially opened in Kashgar. Earlier, in December 2023, a four-party Agreement on the development of trade and economic cooperation was signed between OJSC “Kyrgyz Post”, the Free Economic Zones of “Naryn” and “Kashgar”, and the Yantian Port Investment Company. As part of this agreement, on January 24, the project “Two Countries, Two Parks” of the Kashgar Economic Development Zone was officially launched.

The “Two Countries – Two Parks” project is an industrial park located between the Kashgar Comprehensive Bonded Zone and the Free Economic Zone of Naryn Region, Kyrgyzstan. This project represents an innovative approach to implementing the “platform + park” and “institution + enterprise” development models, as well as a pioneering initiative for exchange and openness. Both parties thus support the operation of an international cooperation platform with complementary industries, interconnected facilities, and mutually beneficial policies, strengthening cooperation in commercial logistics by expanding the categories and scales of imported and exported goods. The project also aims to establish a 48-hour and 72-hour direct “warehouse-to-warehouse” transportation service for cross-border logistics between China and Kyrgyzstan. This will fully leverage the benefits of the “four zones” of the newly opened platform of the Comprehensive Free Trade Zone to promote new trade.

The opening ceremony was attended by the General Director of OJSC “Kyrgyz Post” — Marat Cherikchiev, the Deputy Secretary of the Prefecture Committee and the Commissioner of the Administrative Office, Anivar Tursun.

Marat Cherikchiev noted: “We see the Kashgar Free Economic Zone not just as a partner, but as a key strategic ally in China. The opening of our representative office and the launch of the transport company are clear evidence of our commitment to close cooperation and joint development. We are confident that the implementation of the ‘Two Countries — Two Parks’ project will give a new boost to business cooperation between our countries and take it to a more technological level, as companies from Kyrgyzstan will now be able to export high-quality goods to the world’s largest market. Today, we are joined by three leading companies from Kyrgyzstan in the fields of distribution, cotton processing, and agriculture.”

“By operating the provided bonded warehouse together with our partners and leveraging the capabilities of OJSC ‘Kyrgyz Post’ representative offices in Austria, Latvia, Estonia, and Germany, we will be able to significantly expand our geographical reach and establish a supply chain not only within the two countries but also targeting the markets of the EAEU, EU, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.”

In today’s world, where global challenges require global responses, OJSC “Kyrgyz Post” sees its path to development through the unification of efforts and cooperation, specifically by implementing projects that leverage China’s experience and Kyrgyzstan’s potential. OJSC “Kyrgyz Post” views the Kashgar Free Economic Zone not only as a gateway to China, but also as an opportunity for the Kashgar Free Economic Zone to access the markets of the EAEU (186 million people), the EU (448 million people), Central Asia (58 million people), and South Asia (nearly 2 billion people). In turn, Guan Yun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Work Committee and Director of the Management Committee of the Kashgar Economic Development Zone, stated that the Kashgar Economic Development Zone will carefully implement the key strategic opportunities of the Kashgar region within the Pilot Free Trade Zone of China (Xinjiang). He emphasized the openness of the pilot free trade zone to the outside world, further strengthening cooperation and expansion with neighboring national parks in Central Asia and South Asia (Free Economic Zones), as well as more efficient use of both internal and external resources. The “Two Countries, Two Parks” initiative provides practical and visible results.
