OJSC “Kyrgyz Post” is the state operator of postal services in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Company History
The roots of “Kyrgyz Post” go back to the distant past, starting from the period when the Kyrgyz people became part of the Russian Empire, and later the Soviet Union. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the gaining of independence, the State Enterprise “Kyrgyz Post” was established. Since 1993, the company has been a full member of the Universal Postal Union. In 2003, the enterprise underwent re-registration, and a new Charter was adopted.
In July 2022, by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 203 dated 08.04.2022, it was decided to reorganize the State Enterprise “Kyrgyz Post” into a Joint Stock Company, which now operates under the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic (prior to 2021, the company was under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic). As a result of the transformation, 100% of the company’s shares remained in state ownership. On July 19, 2022, the decision was made to form the Board of Directors of OJSC “Kyrgyz Post”, unlike the previous practice where the company was managed by the General Director.
Key Areas of Activity:
- International Activity — expanding cooperation with global postal operators.

- Digitalization — implementing modern technologies to improve services and increase efficiency.
As of 2022, OJSC “Kyrgyz Post” manages 871 postal offices across Kyrgyzstan, covering both major cities and the most remote corners of the country.
A mobile postal office also operates, serving hard-to-reach areas of the Ton District.
In addition to traditional postal services, the company offers a wide range of additional services, such as:
- Accepting payments from the population — taxes, utility services, payments for the services of public service centers (TSON), UAAA, and the Cadastre.
- Distributing pensions and benefits.
