“Kyrgyz Post” OJSC has received grant support amounting to 70,000 Swiss francs from the Japanese MIC Future Together Fund, with the assistance of the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The agreement on this support was reached in 2025 during a meeting between Marat Cherikchiev, General Director of “Kyrgyz Post” OJSC, and Masahiko Metoki, Director General of the UPU International Bureau. The grant is intended to implement a project focused on the digitalization of postal logistics and the development of cross-border e-commerce.

On October 15, 2026, the first batch of equipment arrived in Kyrgyzstan: 80 sets of computer equipment and 26 thermal printers. The equipment will be distributed to “Kyrgyz Post” OJSC post offices to upgrade workstations, automate processes, and improve service quality. The next phase is also expected to include the delivery of video surveillance cameras. Procurement procedures were carried out with the participation of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The new equipment will improve working conditions for employees and make postal services more convenient and faster for the public. The project will also mark an important step in the continued modernization of the postal network, particularly in the country’s remote regions. “Kyrgyz Post” OJSC expresses its gratitude to the Japanese MIC Future Together Fund, the UPU International Bureau, and UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic for their support and assistance in implementing the project.
