In honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, OJSC «Kyrgyz Post», in cooperation with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic and with the participation of sponsors and patrons, has issued a commemorative series of postage stamps dedicated to 73 Kyrgyz Heroes of the Soviet Union, participants of the Great Patriotic War.
The ceremonial cancellation of the stamps took place on April 23 in the main assembly hall of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.
The event was attended by veterans, representatives of government and public organizations, students, and honored guests.
The project is aimed at preserving the memory of the heroes who made an invaluable contribution to the Victory and serves as an important part of the patriotic education of the younger generation.
A portion of the stamp issue will be presented to participants of the Victory Parade, which will be held on May 9 in Moscow.
